About Winston Churchill

Winston Spencer Churchill was a “Renaissance Man”--not just a great speaker and statesman, but an innovator, artist, writer, athlete, stonemason, and soldier. He was a man of thought as well as action. He was a nationally ranked polo player even when he was in his fifties. If he had been just an artist, he might have been one of the great masters according to Picasso. He was a public office holder from the time of Queen Victoria until Elizabeth II–probably longer than anyone else in history. His leadership during World War II was perhaps the greatest single contributing factor in preserving the free world. Some believe him to be “the largest human being of our time,” truly: “The Man of the Twentieth Century”. Discussions on Winston Churchill's long and varied life can be found in any of the internet addresses listed in the “LINKS” section of this web page. See especially the interesting summary in the article by Jim Regan that appeared in the Christian Science Monitor: “A smooth ride through Churchill's life.”
